Gazette was founded in February 2002 by Ruki (vocal), Uruha (1st guitar), Aoi (2nd guitar), Reita (bass guitar) and Yune (drumms). Ruki, Uruha and Reita already played together in a band called Ma'die Kusse and they changed afterwards to Kar+te=zyAnose; Aoi's and Yune's former band was Artia until the five mentioned ones united and Gazette developed.
In April 2002 they released their first single "Wakaremichi" and two videotapes, which were released again two month later in a second press. In the following August/September they released two more singles and another VHS. At this time Matina was their record label. And finally, they gave their first oneman in the October 2002.
At the beginning of 2003, Yune unfortunately decided to leave the band. Kai, the ex-drummer of Mareydi Creia replaced/substituted him nearly immidiately and in March 2003 they joined the PS Company label.
In May they started their first serious tour, together with "Hanamuke". Apart from the tour collaboration, they also made two songs together. They managed the second tour together with "Vidoll" and the music magazine "The Cure" published an edition with "Vidoll" and "Gazette" altogether on the cover picture.
At the start of December they played a Two-Man-Show besides the fabulous deadman and on the 28th of the christmas month they performed on the Beauti-fool's Fest '03. The event was organized by the music magazine Fool's Mate and had the brilliant line-up of Kra, lab., Gullet, Pink Halleluja, Gazette, deadman, Miyavi, D'espairsRay, Daigo Stardust, Merii and MUCC.
On the 16th of January 2004 they made their first big One-Man-Show, which was recorded and afterwards released as the "Tokyo saihan ~JUDGMENT DAY~ 2004.1.16 SHIBUYA-AX LIVE DVD". The day of the DVD release (28.04.2004) was the foundation of the official Gazette fanclub as well.
Their first mini-album called "MADRA" was released on the 30th of March and rised on the 2nd place of the Oricon Indie Charts! At the 25th of August they released the "Heisei Banka" concert DVD which was recorded on the 23th of April.
In May they also released their first PV-DVD "MADARA", which contained the 6 PVs including the "Making ofs....." of the "MADARA" mini-album.
During September/October they set another tour together with "Kra" and "bis".
Finally, on the 13th of October 2004 they released their first and long awaited full-lenght album "Disorder" which climbed up on the top 5 of the Oricon Daily Charts!
Latest Gazette gave us three nice lessons to listen to. The so called [reila] Lesson. G.O.D.! The G and O contain 2 songs
each and an extra song. The last lesson contains 2 songs as well, but instead of the extra song, their's a "Making of...." of the reila PV.
Now we're looking forward on the release of the "STANDING TOUR 2005 FINAL M.R.D at 2005.4.17 Shibuya kokaido" DVD. This one will be released on the 06.07.2005 and'll be limited on 5000 copies.
